Infection and Shunt Bacteria

Update posted by Jackielou Alfonso

We thought that everything is working okay and well. She had started sitting down and eating on her own, not until last Friday, September 7, 2018 when she went asleep again and no mobility seen. She had another CT-scan and they identified that the hydrocephalus was thickening and sHunt was having a hard time absorbing the water as it was mixed with blood. Blood that had slowly melting down and mixing with the water. The doctor had to do shunt tapping (a bedside procedure wherein she removed the water from shunt using a syringe.) After that, she woke up but she became immobilized. She can no longer turn herself on her own. This time it's the worst case so far. On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, they discovered that there's a bacteria in her hydrocephalus and needs to be seen by an Infectious Disease expert. Unfortunately due to financial crisis, we can no longer afford another doctor. We decided to transfer from pay services to charity services so we can avail free doctor's fee. For now, they're still observing her response with the antibiotics. It's going to be 14 days medication and we still purchase her medicines.

Our family is asking for a little help. Even a penny from your pocket will help us a lot.

Thank you so much and God bless.
