Janelle's journey in her battle againts Biliary Atresia
Update posted by Jenelyn Signo- Janelle is a healthy baby when i gave birth. Were so happy when she came to our life. She is our first born baby. When she reach 2 months old we noticed that there are some changes happening to her. We noticed that the color of her eyes is yellow and her skin is color yellow too. Her stool is failed in color like a chalk. So we decided to bring her to doctor. The doctor adviced us to do some laboratory test and ultrasound. After the test done, the doctor find out that she has a rare disease called Biliary Atresia. This is a Chronic Liver disease. The doctor said that only liver transplant is the cure to her illness. To able to save her life at very young age she undergo surgery called Kasai. This is a temporary procedure before the liver transplant. They found out that her gallbladder and bile duct are not developed. They remove it. All of the happiness we feel before turn into pain and sadness.
