Help this Girl with Scoliosis

Update posted by Maria Coetsee

Dominique Karlien Janse van Rensburg was born on 22 November 2016 at 31 weeks and weighed 1.4kg.

She was a fighter from the moment she was born but she was diagnosed with scoliosis hemivertebrae t10-t12. With this condition, she learned everything just like a normal little toddler.

What is Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty. While scoliosis can be caused by conditions such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, the cause of most scoliosis is unknown.

We were lucky to get an appointment with Prof Robert Dunn and he wanted to wait until she was 6 months old. He now has seen the new x-rays and has informed us that her condition has become worse and she needs to get an MRI urgently on the 12th of June 2018 and then she needs the operation and after that rehab.

We ask you to please help us so that our little girl can keep running and not become paralysed.
