"The quality of the X rays was poor, but still can make out the defects in this gentleman’s ankles and knee. The problem stemmed from birth defects that are called Talipes. The ankles were deformed whilst in-utero and it remained after birth. Treatment would have started early in life consisting of plaster casts and surgery to correct the deformities. Naturally, reconstructions of the deformity would be more complex at a later age. To adequately treat this gentleman with the hope that he will be able to walk will require fully assessed by orthopaedic surgeons with this particular skills. The cost will be high, unless you can procure a sympathetic surgeon, (and I am sure there are such people out there) and a hospital that will allow the surgery to be done at minimal cost. Then, there will be the physiotherapist and orthotists (these are more easily accessible.) To ensure that these tasks are carried out will also require stamina".
