Hello Friends from all over. My name is Rachel, I am 22 years old. About over a year ago after a knee injury, I began to feel prickly sensations on my knee area but thought nothing of it at the time because I was busy to attend to it being in college. A few months thereafter, my knee became more swollen and the pain increased unbearably that my schooling and my life in general has been put on hold because I could no longer walk in long distances. My mother Marlene and I went to Manila, Philippines to the Philippine General Hospital to seek proper diagnosis and treatment for my condition and after tests were conducted, our fears about my condition was revealed to us. I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a malignant cancer condition that affects the bones and connective tissues and I will need chemotherapy and will have to stay in hospital for the duration of the treatment.

Like many normal young people my age, I was looking forward to a productive and meaningful future not only for myself but also for my community but is appears that all of these are in jeopardy. But with God's grace and your kindness and support, I will have a chance in continuing my life. The funds needed for my regimen is estimated at P400,000.00 ($20,000.00USD) and it will go to the chemotherapy, hospital stay and transportation expenses as we are far away from our hometown being in Manila.
