My Flow Cytometry and Biopsy Results!

Update posted by Jiselle Raquem

Hello everyone! Its been a while since I last updated

Last February 8, we went to USTH for my last consultation with Dr. Mancio and also to get my lab results.

We were able to get the Flow cytometry(bone marrow examination) result first as the biopsy(bone examination) was not out yet.

As you can see in the first picture, my result is ABNORMAL. It shows I still have active cancer(blast) cells with 5.86%. It was quite a bad news actually.

Upon knowing this, I was briefed by my Doctor that If my Biopsy report indicates Abnormal too, I will have to undergo Re-induction chemo. It will be a combination if IDARUBICIN, CYTARABINE and ETOPOSIDE chemo meds(ICE Protocol). We left her clinic sad.. πŸ˜” knowing that I will have to do chemotherapy once more, that we might spend atleast 200K pesos again for confinement(we can use this money for my BMT already!) and it will delay my transplant again which is not clinically advised on me.

We were outside of the hospital already, almost about to get a grab car when my Doctor called and requested us to come back as the biopsy report was ready.

We rushed back to her clinic. She sounded sad when I talked to her on the phone so I assumed it was a bad news.

BUT IT’s NOT!

My Biopsy Result reveals NORMAL!!!! Woooohoooo!!! YEHEY!! So it means I do not have to do Chemotherapy with them anymore!!! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Praise God! πŸ™πŸ»

Although both results didn’t match, Biopsy report is more significant than the other(As per by my Dr and the Pathologist that examined my samples), and my recent CBC result was very good and showed that my body responded well on the past treatments. So I can finally proceed with my Bone Marrow Transplant soon!! 😊Yey! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I have started a consultation with Dr. Luna of Radiation Onco Department in St. Luke’s BGC this week. Next week I’ll be back for HLA Antibody lab test, consultation with Dr. Lopez(BMT DR) with the Donor and Ethics meeting.

Thank you Lord for being with me all the way! Thank you for the blessings and for the strength you continuously giving me and my family...it’s not possible without you! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»
