Update posted by Annabel Street

Hello every body,

I have been a bit quiet recently as we have had so much work to do and with so many big steps forward thanks to your help, we have also had a few set backs due to storms bringing heavy rain which flooded the house with water and mud from the now bare mountain and wind that has broken some of our temporary animal shelters, and brought down fences....it sometimes feels like groundhog day! In the last few months we have had some generous donations and this fund has really been the difference between make or break for us, so from deep within our hearts thank you all so much for the support. We have planted another 300 trees and had the special joy of seeing one of the first trees we planted in the weeks after the fire blossom. For me it is a time of happiness and tears, funny how such simple things now bring me to tears, every sign of life feels like a precious gift. We have also been renovating the house to create rooms and a yoga and healing space to replace the accommodations and healing area that burnt, We have made the decision not to buy any more caravans or vehicles to replace the ones that burnt as they are hard to protect in a fire, instead we are investing in the house as a safe space, it means less accommodation as the house will only provide 3 rooms for guests but we feel that will be ok as long as we keep trusting and creating.

I am posting photos of our progress to our facebook page Honey house vegan retreat and my personal page Annie Street.

In the coming months I hope to post more finished photos, but for now its a work in progress. Thank you for being a part of rebuilding the dream.
