Freedom After the fire

Update posted by Annabel Street

Freedom after the fire.
For the last 13 days the horses have been in the guest dog garden, a 40m x 10m run which was not affected by the fires. Yesterday the fence energiser and tape arrived and we were able to secure a small paddock area for them. This has meant for the first time in 13 days they have been able to have a gallop and throw their legs in the air, something they normally do daily. We used extra high wooden poles and 3 tiers of tape to make sure they can not get out as we have not yet begun the huge task of re fencing the perimeter fence which was nearly all burnt. Tomorrow we will start to focus on the rest of the land bit by bit, we will buy mixed grass seed and irrigation sprinkler type things, to try and get some grass growing to protect the top soil on the burnt areas before the heavy rains come and wash it all away. Thank you to all of you who have supported us during this exhausting time. We really do appreciate it and are blown away by the kindness we have received from friends, family and people we have never met before. Thank you Watch the Horses having a gallop in their new paddock
