After being told and showered with so many good news. They decided to tell us some bad news today.

Due to Akira's prematurity and low birth weight, her eyes was affected by a condition calls ROP (Retinopathy of prematurity). This condition usually affect premature baby less than 30 weeks or birth weight less than 1kg.

Akira fall into the first category. And despite her birth weight was 1.02kg, her weight drop up to 739g (lowest) first few days... that made her high on the list to get this condition.

For the past few weeks, her ROP was mild. Stage 1 based on the international classification of ROP (ICROP), however the examination done yesterday evening showed that her ROP condition progressed to stage 2. If it worsen on the next examination next week, i.e. progress to stage 3, she will need LASER operation.

I would like to urge everyone who's following Akira's condition, who has supported and encouraged us to continue to pray for her. Hopefully she doesn't need to undergo LASER operation.
