Back to the ICU

Update posted by Frank Aeden Lopez

A lot of things happened these past few days and I apologized for the lack of updates. Aeden was transferred from the ICU to a regular room last July 28, 2017 but was still under strict observation. He was constantly being monitored keeping his condition stable. On our last meeting with the transplant team, it has been agreed upon that we wait for the Metabolic screening test result before we proceed to the next step to rule out any metabolic disease that might cause his condition. During his stay on the regular room, his INR keeps on going up wherein the doctors needs a transfusion to lower it again. Glucose and possible infection were being monitored as well. Last July 31, 2017, he was transferred back to the ICU due to a diagnosed progressive pneumonia and he was having a hard time breathing. He’s condition is currently improving in the ICU though there’s still sign of infection and he’s still being given antibiotics. The doctor said that due to his age and his liver failure, he is very prone to infection. Yesterday, the result of the metabolic screening result arrived wherein all showed normal. Hopefully, his condition will further improve…. Strong enough for his angioplasty to correct his heart condition.
