Thank you to all who contributed online and offline! Photos and story of the evening coming later when I find some good photos (mine were very blurry). Tips of B 5,000 each were given to the two long-suffering staff members along with a thank you note with pictures of all who contributed. We also managed a standing ovation for Khun Satit at the end of the night (granted, everyone was already standing). We left as people began throwing themselves at him to hug him, take pictures with him. The one photo I have of that moment shows Khun Satit beaming, his smile going from ear to ear. (He had been quietly starting to stack bar stools up on the bar for the last time when we dragged him out to the other side of the lane and called for everyone's attention.) I think he was truly moved by the affection. More coming later this week...
