Hi everyone, apologies for not updating sooner but as well as internet problems we're having phone and power issues, this isn't anything new, we're used to the electronics failing having given up with using computers after the fifth one stopped working and having three night cams only last a total of three months, then there are the four walkie talkies, oh and seven headlights, need i go on! Yes we researched, asked for recommendations from seasoned professionals, posted questions on forums, and despite buying waterproof, bomb proof, even Raccoon proof, oh, ok maybe not Raccoon, but you get the drift ... jungle proof ... at least that's what it said on the tin, Hmmmm ... they lied!

Nothing lasts!

Paul's very good at maintenance and obviously because of the harsh environment we're almost obsessive about keeping electronics dry, not so easy living in a giant tent but we're very careful.

Even so we find ourselves in the position of having no way of communicating with each other when out in the bush, this isn't ideal when one of us is out through the night checking for Cayman (we make our presence known as much as possible which keeps them away, two Raccoons have been bitten by Cayman in the past!) especially as there are five different types of deadly viper around as well!

Good headlights are vital but currently we only have one that is reliable, two cheapies are on order, we're tired of spending large amounts on supposedly everything proof lights only to have them break down in a matter of months, and as we have a lawyer to pay there really isn't any choice.

You know they say ... it never rains but it pours ... well that's exactly what's happening, all the electronics and mechanical equipment is breaking down at the same time, we're just keeping our heads above water managing to survive and making sure everyone is fed.

We hope that because of the difficult circumstances you'll understand and forgive us for not being on top of the fundraiser and keeping you all 100% up to date.

We'll write an update about the legal situation in a few days as we've been advised not to say anything publicly for the moment.

Needless to say we haven't reached our target and will need to keep the fundraiser running.
