The Outreach Service

Update posted by Jacqui Walker

I asked Majidi about why they need the motorbike. "To help me with conducting an outreach program and the big problem here is transport because children live in different areas and are not able to come to school due to their disability or family economic status, so if I get a motorcycle (it) will be favourable to the program."

He also sent me some photographs of a recent visit to one family which I share here. The first photo shows one of the schools SEND teachers Philipo Ugula with one of the families he visits.

Although the school is a primary school the outreach service supports children up to the age of 19.

The service supports children with many different disabilities, for example this pupil has a visual impairment.

All these children do not attend the school and without the visits from the Outreach Service Teachers would not be receiving any formal education support.

Getting a motorbike will make this service much more frequent and efficient and increase the amount of support that can be offered.
