Update from Honey

Update posted by Michael Fischer

I went to the doctor and the X-ray showed my rib is healing well, and my collarbone is 100% displaced. The doctor was surprised that the doctor at the Phoenix hospital didn't put a plate and screws in right away. He said it was old school to just let it heal by itself. Now that it has been 2 weeks since the accident I have the choice whether I want the surgery, but I chose to let God heal it. It's pretty amazing as it’s like the roots of a tree and will blend the bones that are apart together though I will probably have a bump sticking out. He said it should heal 90% right in 3 months. There could also be complications with surgery, and I have more faith to not go that route. I got a butterfly brace so it holds my shoulders back and I can use both my hands now -- not lifting anything with my right hand. I think it's better, but there's still pain and my sciatica has acted up after 2 years because I have been lying down a lot, or else a nerve got pinched when I fell from the bike. Gabe said his foot is getting better and he started to go back to work, but is taking it slow. I am thinking of going back to work on Monday. In a month I go back to the doctor and start physical therapy.

There’s lots of paperwork and calls to deal with for hospital, towing bike, police report, lawyer, insurance, ambulances, helicopter, medical bills, etc. It’s hard to get much rest though we need to in order to heal. Thanks so much for your prayers. We count on them and feel them in the spirit. We appreciate your support and we are encouraged that God is bringing us through this turn in the road as we hold on to His promises for healing and supply.

Lots of love,

Gabe and Honey
