The authorities have informed us that we require an electric fence to protect the children. They have threatened to close the school down until this fence is implemented. In January we also had 2 break ins where the school books were stolen and the pipe from the water tank. After we had a guard installed they found out that this was a small gang coming on a motor scooter in the night. They have not come back since the last time when thy saw it was guarded. We are now building the fence. It needs to be electric with a small solar panel and that results in total cost of 3000 Euros.
Furthermore we are paying for the monthly salaries for the teachers. Daniel Kiranto is trying to get the school authorities to take over the salaries, but this is a lengthy process and we do not know if and when we will succeed here.
Bringing it all together, we will need around 7000 Euro this year and we would be very grateful, if you could help and contribute to that

We have accomplished a lot so far, with 4 classes running. The children are doing well. With the help of Beyond Water (Sharon and Pete Crean) we also got guttering and a water tank, so they can wash their hands when coming from the latrines and before having their lunch. The community has organized daily lunch for the kids (we are not paying for that).
