Devastated

Update posted by Emma Smith

On Tuesday 26th April we went into the hospital for Emma to have blood work and get the results from her last MRI, and we are afraid that it was not good news at all. The MRI has confirmed our worst fears that the symptoms Emma has been showing since our return from England in December are as a result of the disease spreading in her brain.

As you can imagine this has devastated all of us, especially Emma. She is having to adjust to the fact that there is not a long term future for her. Her first words on hearing the news were "I will never get to be a teacher", which is what she has wanted to be for such a long time.

The doctors cannot tell us how long Emma has left with us. We will be trying to put together a living list of things that Emma wants to accomplish, and try to do as many of them as we can, time and finances willing.

We are saddened to say that we need financial support more than ever now. Emma has not started on her living list (bucket list if you wish) as yet, but we will probably need finances to accomplish some of them. With your help, we hope to achieve as many on Emma's list as we can!

Thank you all for your support, without it we could not have made it this far and we appreciate it so very much!
