Update

Update posted by Debbie Carnell

Hi All

Just an update on my fostering journey and further to my previous post on the 3 October 2015.

Firstly can I thank everyone who has donated so far you will never ever know what this means to us on our journey to get "A".

We met "A" for the first time yesterday in the children's home he is currently residing in. He is extremely autistic and lives in his own little world. He does not speak much as his parents or the home where he lives do not have the time to spend speaking to him and playing with him. He does not know how to play. He is an 8 year old boy and the first thing you would expect him to do is play. He wonders around the home he lives in and the garden of the home on his own and does not know how to interact with people. This will change when he arrives with us - we will talk to him, we will spend time with him on the floor playing and we will take him to different places so he can interact with people.

After meeting "A" yesterday we are both very very keen to get starting with this young boy and he joins us on the 6 November.

We are having a further meeting tomorrow with his teachers, his parents and psychiatrist.
