Dear Friends of Majhitar,

Once again, I would like to thank you wholeheartedly for your kind donations to wards my cause.

A quick update on where things are in terms of the work in the village: The second earthquake on 12 May sent strong tremors across the country including Majhitar. This worsened the situation in many parts of the country. But I am glad that everyone in the village remained safe. There is plenty of clean drinking water and food. No injuries were reported. I understand that the first batch of relief support supply (two mosquito nets and one solar lantern to each of the affected families) were very much appreciated as being timely and very useful.

A committee was sent up and the first committee meeting strongly suggested that the village needs new houses for people as the temporary houses will no last long especially as the monsoon is coming soon. So, I have been advised that using the funds I have raised for buying building materials (i.e., corrugated iron sheets for the roof and if the fund allows cement) will be the most effective. Currently I am working with the committee to explore suppliers of these building materials. I will update more when I have the news.
