But statistics don’t tell us the truth because loss is personal. The devastation caused by losing a single individual to such despicable acts is unbearable. The surface of the pain each of the 69 families is going through can barely be scratched.
I try to shed tears for 69 Kenyans but my eyes remain dry. Anger has emptied the tear glands and what remains is a stare. Yet deep within is strength, one that will never waver even if thousands were killed by people driven by evil.
