Food for thought.

Statistics will lie to us. Statistics will try to convince us that 69 are dead and still counting, that hundreds have been injured. But statistics don’t tell us the truth because loss is personal. The devastation caused by losing a single individual to such despicable acts is unbearable. The surface of the pain each of the 69 families is going through can barely be scratched.

I try to shed tears for 69 Kenyans but my eyes remain dry. Anger has emptied the tear glands and what remains is a stare. Yet deep within is strength, one that will never waver even if thousands were killed by people driven by evil.

We cannot break. We shall stand firm.
