I Did it, I Did It!

Update posted by Savannah Miles

I DID IT I DID IT! It was quite an experience, some of the worst things I have had to put myself through but all in all I finished Tough Mudder!

Honestly, without sounding cheesy half way through I was really struggling, especially with my foot injury, but I genuinely thought about the reason I was going through it all. For the 300 children who need a home, an education and someone to support them.

As for the course, wow it was a lot of running, I have never done 12 miles before so that was a fun new challenge. A lot of the obstacles were water based so by half way through the course my hands had pretty much frozen they were so wet and cold, which made simple things like a toilet break a lot more challenging! The worst thing I experienced was hands down 'Arctic Enema' It was the obstacle I was dreading the most because I know how much being cold affects me. Right before I slide down the metal cage I almost pulled out, but I bit my tongue and literally slide straight into the skip full to the brim of Ice, your whole body is shocked but I just wanted to get out, so I went under the tire obstacle to fully submerge (cruel) and as soon as I came up all I wanted to do was cry. I saw the photographer in front of me and just went as fast as I could to climb out, tears were not far off and as soon as I got out I just ran to try ad keep myself going. But the brain freeze... that brain freeze is absolutely unreal, I thought my head was about to explode, after two minutes of running I turned to my course buddy and high-fived her, we did it, we survived. All that was left was half a course and electric shocks but we were smiling through the tears haha.

The best part of the course was the mud mile, huge piles of mud you had to climb up and slide down. We got absolutely covered in mud and it was genuinely so much fun! Despite my leggings getting a massive hole in the right bum cheek.

If you want to take a look we made a video of the course... I hope you enjoy it and will support my cause and Diamond Home Orphanage. Click here for the video.
