Distillery Week #3+
Update posted by Sean StarkWell this past week Brad, the lead distiller at the New Holland Campus, was on vacation. Soooo, that meant I ran the still 4 out of 5 days myself, doing stripping runs on Bourbon. I also did a ton of cleaning and gave a good shot at doing inventory. That was a bit of a process. It was a busy week to be sure.
Also spent a day in the Brewhaus learning the craft of mashing, and use of mash/lauter tuns, etc. Of course, the guys were gracious enough to me to teach about grist, mashing, lautering/sparging, cooking, the heat exchanger, pitching yeast, etc. It's pretty interesting. Lots and lots to learn there.
Good week, though I was ready for it to end with all the extra cleaning that I did and since it was soooo quiet in the stillhouse by myself.
Thanks to everyone who has helped support my family during this endeavor.
