TUMAINI (HOPE) SPORTS ACADEMY

Promoting Peace Through Sports

 The Tumaini Sports Academy is located and operated out of the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in the Kigoma Province of Tanzania. It was started by Amuri Nguomoja, a Sports Coaching Fellow from the Dekeyser & Friends Academy as a tool to bring young people from different tribal and ethnic backgrounds together using Sport as the medium. Through their programs, they want to promote peace through the creation of opportunities for dialogue, learning about conflict and engaging in development which in the long-term will create a peaceful and integrated community that is built on a sense of shared identity and fellowship.
