After a long drive up to Scotland we finally reached Glen Nevis and started the our three peak challenge at 16:02. The walk up varied from steps to scree and the sun was out, but as we ascended we encounted rain, hail and snow! At 19:30 we reached the top of Ben Nevis only to see cloud. On the way down the cloud cleared to see the sunset through the mountains in the distance, leaving us to walk the last half an hour in the dark. We reached the bottom by 21:50. One down two to go! My mum (designated driver and cook) had made pasta for us before the long overnight journey to the Lake District.
