Open Door Child centre

Update posted by Bev Frieslich

The original old pink building ( seen above),made up of 3 old containers hobbled together as a functional building, has become inadequate for the large numbers of clients it is required to process. Social workers and the administrative and field staff find it difficult to function at an optimal level

It was agreed that a larger building should be built to accommodate the clients from both Ocean View and Masiphumelele townships in the Fish Hoek Valley in the Southern Cape peninsula. Funds were raised by Valley Development Projects and the Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope but due to the unfortunate reneging of a promise for funding by a major donor, the building cannot continue due to a lack of funds.

Sponsors and Benefactors are urgently needed.

The project is overseen by the Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope which, as with all Rotary International projects, is controlled by excellent financial governance and Rotarian supervision at all stages of the project. Total transparency of all financial, construction and administrative operations is thus guaranteed.
