Life isn't measured by what you gain but rather what you gift.
At 3 or 4 years old most of us took one of the biggest steps in our lives, the first day of kindergarten. Little did we realise how privilaged we were. The sandpits, swings, play-doh, art supplies, books and most importantly the qualified pre-school teachers.
The people of Vanuatu are vastly underprivilaged when it comes to the means and requirements for creating and sustaining the roots for first world growth with the environments they are handed. A childs brain develops at an exponential speed and needs to be supported with resources to continue that growth.
In 2014 I lived in a small village on the island of Ambae, Vanuatu. The kindergarten was heart-breaking. A cement building with one table, one teacher, limited paper and pencils and one puzzle right next to the road with no security for the children. Yet, every student would walk in with a smile on their face, "Bonjour teacher" and make use of what they had.
Donations for this cause will help fund the kindergarten of Vilakalaka to attain better education supplies, teacher training, a secure learning environment and nourishment for the growing children.
