Batangas needs us NOW! — a fundraising drive for the families affected by the Taal Volcano eruption

On January 12, 2020, the Taal Volcano started releasing a huge amount steam in the morning. The alert level went up from Level 1 to Level 4 in just a few hours. In the afternoon, the volcano erupted sending ashes that reached up to Metro Manila and some other parts of Luzon.

The ash fall was already affecting the people in Metro Manila that breathing is hard and ashes are everywhere -- but what more for those who are living in Batangas? The province where the Taal Volcano is.

We are initiating a fund raising effort to be able to send help to the town of San Jose. A town that is not as greatly affected as the other towns in Batangas -- with the help of Mt. Maculot, but are hosting about 500 families that evacuated from their hometowns. San Jose is also not as safe and could still get affected if there's another eruption (which is expected anytime soon), but they are accommodating evacuees the best way they can and they need our help to support these families.

Our team will personally bring goods (clothes, water, food, and other basic necessities) to them this weekend and we are hoping to bring enough for as many families as we can cover. Your help will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way. Batangas needs us NOW!
