Campaign Story
Before anything, let me thank you for taking
the time to read this letter.
I’ve known Bani, or Vanessa, since high school when we were classmates during
our freshman and sophomore years. With my competitive nature back then, I
initially saw her as a rival in getting a good image and high grades from our
instructors. I can’t help but notice her “I can do it” attitude to any struggle
she faced. Her wits and creativity also shined and became very apparent on our
“Nutri Jingles,” during Nutrition Week.
With her as our favored leader, our group became a standout, and made noise
across the campus. She’s a ball of energy with oozing enthusiasm towards any
school related activity she dealt with, and due to having common friends we
became one as the school year progressed.
Through time she became a very strong woman; The “big sister” material who
always knows what to say when you solicit for an advice, and very well
respected by everyone
Unfortunately, 17 years after high school we’ve never had the chance to bump
into each other’s paths again. However, we did remain friends on Facebook, and
I occasionally see her wall posts regarding her simple yet happy contented life
with her family. She is now a mother of two lovely kids, happily married and a
servant of God as her posts implies.
About 3 years ago, while reading through my Facebook feed, I caught a post she
shared about a name of this certain sickness that I am not familiar with. I
looked into it and then saw the out streaming comments from her friends and
family with thoughts of her getting better. It gave me goosebumps almost immediately.
As I read on, she added the meaning of this sickness called Sarcoma. A sarcoma
is a type of cancer that develops from certain tissues, like bone or muscle. I
was hoping it was just a joke, but as her close friends confirmed, it was not.
3 years have passed and we thank God that she’s still with us and fighting
still for her
I know she has her family and friends to support her, but I am with a humbled
heart asking for your kind-hearted donation to our campaign, “Bani Santos’
Sarcoma Treatment Medical Fund.” Any amount that you can donate or in kind for
the medication of Bani will be highly appreciated. We hope you can be part of
fulfilling our hope to aid her fight this unforeseen hurdle of her life.
Thank you for extending help and praying for her. May God bless you and your family always!
