Bamboo-Guadua instruction book for 430 products

I am Germán Rubio Luna, Colombian Mechanical Engineer, from the "Indiana Institute of Technology" (EU), and specialized in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.

Exercising my career as an Engeneer, I have developed several producs of my own design. More than 20 of them are patented in diverse countries, like Colombia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Spain, England and Australia.

I am a founding member of the "Colombian Bamboo Society" and I have had the opportunity of presenting my experiences in various national and international meetings and conferences on Bamboo.

After more than 55 years of experience in mechanical engineering, I wrote the Guide "Arte y mañas de la Guadua" (Art and Tips of Bamboo Guadua I, "A guide to the productive use of a giant bamboo") in 2008 and finished one new book titled: Art and Tips of Bamboo Guadua II, "Other uses to everyone. Seats and Re-engineering in construction".

These two books are written in Spanish. If we could just publish this in English, hundreds of people, especially the ones in the poorest countries, will be able to benefit from this knowledge. However, due to my advanced age (I will be 84 in December) I do not have the time or energy to translate these books to English.

With the funds raised we can hire a professional translator.

With your help, "Pre buying" one or more copies of these books, we can translate these two books to English (more than 111,998 words and over 1400 Illustration), with the new services: print on demand (POD) we can reach everyone at very low costs.

Bamboo-Guadua is an extremely cheap but also extremely resistant construction material. With the translation of these books, to a globalized language as English is, the less advantaged in South America, Africa, Asia, etc., will be able to learn how to build earthquake resistant homes and diverse products for their own use, and to create their own artisan industry, and thus increase their income.

With any of these books, you will learn step by step, in a very didactic and even fun way, to make more than 400 crafts, toys, tools, furniture and even buildings. In addition, the book teaches you how to start your own specialized micro industry (agricultural structure buildings, items for florists, making bamboo furniture, and many more).
