Bahar ic Caghaq Cleanup

Three years ago I began a local cleanup organisation to try and clear the countryside around Bahar ic Caghaq from the huge amounts of rubbish and waste that were filling the country lanes, fields and roadsides. I created a Facebook page and began to document the work I was doing, and soon gained thousands of followers, and as a direct consequence of that I was contacted by a group of local NGOs and volunteer groups, and together we formed the Coalition For A Sustainable Future (KFS). I was also contacted by a trade association and asked to organise cleanups for volunteers from their members, and we have carried out five major events since 2022, with hundreds of volunteers cleaning the countryside, seabeds and coastline, as well as planting trees. I still carry out local cleanups 2-3 times per week, and participate in other cleanups organised by other groups. I have also been lobbying the government on environmental issues, and have recently presented ideas for a major national anti-littering campaign, together with some of my partner organisations, and we are waiting to see what results will come of that. I have been financing this work with a small retainer from the trade association and my own freelance advertising work, but this is now not working out, and I am faced with the choice of going back into full-time employment which will seriously reduce the time I will have for these environmental activities, unless I can get enough funding for 6 more months to try and realise the anti-littering campaign. I have calculated that 1000€ per month will cover my expenses and living costs and allow me to keep up with the weekly cleaning.
