Autism Center - Children's Hospital 2022
The purpose of The Autism Center at Children’s Hospital that we will open by 2020 from your donation
is to improve the quality of life for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. In order to accomplish this goal, The Autism Center provides comprehensive, evidence-based assessment and treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Although clinical care is the primary mission of The Autism Center at Children’s Hospital, the center also serves as a training facility for providers and engages in innovative research endeavors to promote understanding about Autism Spectrum Disorder and their impact on families.
CLINICAL SERVICES
Purpose: To provide evidenced based assessment and treatment to children and their families. Service provision is individually tailored based on each child’s need.
TRAINING
Purpose: To provide training for undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in Psychology. Training efforts also include community outreach and support via consultation with schools and outside agencies, and educational workshops to enhance the knowledge base of professionals working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
RESEARCH
Purpose: To provide opportunities for research endeavors to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions used in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Research activities occur in order to best inform clinical practice.
