My name is Syafiqah and I am 22 years old.
On 20th March, I received an email saying that me and my friend, Afifah Mursyida, have been chosen to be one of the participants of Asia Student Summit 2018 that will be held in Seoul on 8th until 12th July.
Asia Student Summit has been organized since 2016. This program was initiated to bring together those potential future leaders among undergraduate students from all over asia. Its strong career and educational-based stir our interests especially by bringing up a tentative on campus visit to Kyunghee and Seoul National University. From this session, we will be having a session to understand more on Korea educational system and also getting technical assistants on procedure to pursue study in Korea. Participant will be provided with a lecture on Success Preparation Class to guide student on setting goals for their career path.
On third day, we will have a company visit to KBS and Samsung. These two companies known as among the biggest company in Korea. During the visit at KBS, participant will get an exposure on Korean culture contents and learn on broadcasting in the studio. While at Samsung, we will be able to see a field-experience of how Samsung contributing an innovation to the world. At the end of the day, participants will visit Gwanghwamun and historical palace of Gyeongbokgun to see the history of Old Joseon.
On the fourth day (symposium), each groups will be given task to prepare an analysis by writing paper for a presentation for a specific title. On this day, a representative from every group will be selected to present on their findings.
Because this opportunity is rare, we have decided to extend our staying in Seoul for 3 days to do visits to few institutes that related to our field of study (Food Biotechnology). Since we will be in my last year in bachelor studies, we are thus preparing for an internship. As for us, we are interested to do our industrial training in Korea due to rise of interests in halal food field among the industry players in this developed country. Along internship too, we will be working on advancing our Korean language literacy.
As for me and Afifah, this is definitely a bridge for both our study and career to go further as we have been working hard so far. This fundraising is done to support both of us to fly to Seoul.
For those who are reading, we hope you will be as someone who would help us to achieve one of our dreams. Letting us having this chance will be one of the most wonderful things that ever happen.
