Campaign Story
Artemis is this cute female dog, she is in need of emergency care or she will die. We are unable to find the money, only you can help us save her.
Hello, my name is George, I am 19 years old and currently studying IT in the greek university of business and economics. You have probably heard something on the news or talking with others about how bad the economy is in greece, things are really depressing here. My father is the only one that has a job and we live by whatever he makes, which is barely enough to pay bills, food and fuel for the car, sometimes it's not and we rely on my grandmother to pay stuff for us. Unfortunately at a time like this, my best friend Artemis is in need of urgent medical assistance, something we cannot provide
It all started in October 2012, our dog was bleeding, discharging pus and had bad fevers. We took it to a vet and she told us she needed a surgery for pyometra, and that could only happen in a pet hospital. We took it to one and they told us they can do it for 300 euros. It was impossible for us to pay that money then so we took an alternative, we bought Vibramycin and some cortizones and did a vitamin inection. That helped her for a while, but it didn't do much to cure her, we hoped that during that time my mom could find a job and we can pay for surgery but it is now the end of February and we haven't had any hopes of putting any money aside due to taxes and bills, you are our last hope.
I grew up with this dog, we didn't buy it or got it from someone, we picked it up from the road when she was just 2 months old, their mother was a stray who had given birth to some puppies during the winter, they had no chance of surviving in the cold so my family, my cousin's family and some other people decided to each adopt one. We wanted to give her the chance to live cause we couldn't let her die, in fact, she chose us and came to our hug and that's when we took her from her mother. This was about 8 years ago. During that time we took her to multiple vets for vaccines and the occassional checkup but nobody ever told us we should sterilize her, it took us all by surprise.
This is the story up till now, the past and present. However I don't know if there will be a future, that depends solely on you. I don't want her to die, but I just can't help her in our condition. She is in constant pain and it breaks my heart just seeing her because I remember how she was when she was healthy and she was jumping on the sofas and eating my stuffed animals and my socks, now she can barely walk and doesn't have an appetite. Please help us, I don't want to lose her to this, anything you can give would be great, it adds up so even if just a little bit, it may end up saving her life.
Thank you for reading this.
George.

Update posted by George Siotos at 04:00 pmI took some photos with my dog, she is well now and has recovered, she has some scars from the operation which I took in the 2nd pic, here is the album: http://imgur.com/a/DL76O#0 This will hopefully be the last update, one last thanks to everyone that helped us do this.
Good news!
Update posted by George Siotos at 10:47 amThe surgery is over and it was a success! They forgot to call us so we called them instead. They said everything was fine and by that time the dog had woken up. They will keep her for one or two days before they let us take her back.. . . . .
The surgery started
Update posted by George Siotos at 06:33 amI got the money and we took her to the animal hospital where they would do the surgery, it was really depressing there, there were many animals that were either sick or injured, some were missing limbs, others were blind, I don't envy the doctors that go there to work. . . . .
Withdrawing all the money
Update posted by George Siotos at 08:36 amI got the 10 euros I withdrew earlier without any problems, I guess I was being a bit too careful but I really wanted to make sure nothing bad happened, I now withdrew the rest of the money and in 1-2 business days they'll be here (around wednesday), I hope
100%
Update posted by George Siotos at 04:17 amThe fundraiser is now fully funded, like I said in my previous update I am waiting for monday/tuesday to see if I've done the process right, if so, I will withdraw all the money and we will get it done asap, and if I don't get it right I'll go. . . . .
Testing the withdrawal process
Update posted by George Siotos at 02:39 pmI told paypal to withdraw 10 euros to my bank account, I want to test the withdrawal process to see if I did it right (it's my first time withdrawing from paypal sorry), in 1-2 business days the 10 euros should be in the bank, then I'll withdraw the rest
Some photos
Update posted by George Siotos at 03:06 amI am posting this from my uncle's house, where my dog currently is. The reddit mods wanted me to give proof in a reddit thread I made about this, I took some photos, here is the album: http://imgur.com/a/yc6MX#0
