Campaign Story
We have been working tirelessly for the past month to create Aria, which we hope can be an emergency solution in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aria is an mechanised resuscitator which can save lives when ventilators are not available.
- It costs a fraction of the price of a traditional ventilator
- Can be manufactured quickly in Chile
- It is easy to operate in an emergency situation
Our small team has already developed, tested and refined Aria 1.0, our first prototype. Now we hope to obtain approval from the Chilean Ministry of Health, but to pass the tests, we need need 2,000,000 CLP (around $4,000) to build Aria version 2.0 as soon as possible.
Check out our progress here: https://ivy.cl/aria/
***
Once we've received approval from the Ministry of Health and built the final version, our intention is to manufacture Aria on a massive scale for use in hospitals throughout our country. Eventually our design will be open source so that Aria can be part of the global solution.
***
Throughout this process we have benefited from the guidance of medical and technical professionals, who have helped us refine our design so it's the best it can be.
Team Aria is lead by Juan Riviera (CEO of innovation startup IvY), Alvaro Contreras (CTO of Ivy) and Ignacio Diaz Katalinic (Industrial Designer specialising in medtech).

100 per cent of donations received will go towards producing Aria 2.0, and we will keep donors informed of our progress.
