Antiguo Modo – Ensamble Musical

Hi! I'm Gabriel, from Salta, Argentina. I'm the founder and conductor of Antiguo Modo. It's a cultural space devoted to the research, study, historical informed performance and promotion of ancient music (i.e. music composed between 5th and 18th centuries). Although we are keen on all the repertoire of that period we are particularly interested on the musical production of Latin-America during the colonial times which has been recently rediscovered.

At the moment, a process of formal education on this subject is being carried away. This training takes place in the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel de Falla in Buenos Aires city. Antiguo Modo provides workshops, master classes and concerts free of charge so that more and more people can get to know about this repertoire and the ancient practices. In the future, it is planned to set a school of ancient music in Salta city (1616 km from Buenos Aires) so that people don't have to travel that much to get acquainted with this knowedge.

Ever since the creation of Antiguo Modo in February 2017 up to the date (November 2018), nearly one hundred people have benefited from our activites such as workshops, master classes, musical assistance (to other musicians who want to perform ancient music) and exhibitions. The attendance to our concerts grows and grows. And all, free of charge!
