Campaign Story
I’m a Type 1 Diabetes patient with complications of Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease,Hypothyroidism, Diabetes Gastropathy, Malabsorption and Neuropathy. I have kidney and gall bladder stones which causes pain in my abdomen which radiates at my whole back. When these pains occur, I had to rush to the hospital because the pain is really excruciating. I really cried out for help. Last September 13,2017 my 12 year old son rushed my to the hospital thru the help also or our Barangay Rescue Team. We stayed in ER for 2 days due to room unavailability even the ward is so full that admitting office cannot assured us when it will be available due to high volume of patients. Then after several times we were informed that the only room available for that time was Large Private Room. We had no choice but to get the room as staying in ER would cost us much higher because the rate in ER was per hour. My sister told the admitting officer that to inform us as soon as there will be avaible any room lower than the rate of the Large Private room. After 6 days again we are informed that a Small Private room is available. So we immediately process our request to admitting office for a proper room transfer to small private room. I was still in a Large Private room when my doctors told me that I’m for dicharge. The bill was 154k including the Doctor’s fee. I had my attending physician who was a Gastro, next are Nephro, Endoc and Anesthesiologist. After 12 days I was transferred now to ward. Now we are still applying to government agencie to seek medical assistance for our hospital bill. We even email some of rhe politicians but most of them only referred us to PCSO and DSWD. This is very tiring emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. The bill was not yet settled and continuously piling up. I’m a single mother and eldest in the family. Ever since I lost my job 4 years ago, me and my siblings had been struggling and juggling to maintain our everyday life to survive. We lost our parents and we are orphan for years. It was year 2015 when I lost my job that I thought was stable already though my earnings was not enough. What my sisters’ and my brother’s earning barely covers our house rent, electric and water bill; I still need to buy food, school supplies for my son, and my medical needs and such. Furthermore, I owe my friends, colleagues and family financial support or should I say donations for my medical needs. As for now — We’re trying all the best that we can in order for us and our family to survive. We couldn’t afford and adapt to the certain challenges we are facing. It is very painful to be in this kind of situation. As a mother and a sister, I would never like to see my family to suffer like this — so I hope you could help us in any way as possible. No amount is too small!!! PLEASE — Help me Thank you so much for all your help in advance. Me and my family greatly appreciate it! ❤️
When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” — Ann Marie Cruz
