The problem?The thawing of the permafrost is currently the biggest climate catastrophe. There are about 1,600 gigatons of carbon stored here. That is 2x as much carbon as in our atmosphere and 3x as much as in all the forests on Earth. If the permafrost continues to thaw, vast amounts. . . . .
