Anecdotes of Maltese Early Jazz (Vinyl)

In 2015 I started my research on artist George Caurana, known as Tony Carr. During this journey I discovered a myriad of interesting anecdotes that go beyond his personal story. A particular account involved one of the first local jazz trios, made up of Frank Camilleri, Joe Curmi and Tony Carr.

In 2023 I was invited to present a project as part of the Malta Society of Arts‘ 100 years at Palazzo de La Salle. I wanted this concert to go beyond the musical aspect and amalgamate and give context with footage, photos and stories I collected throughout my research. Through a collaboration with various artists, this project came to its culmination on 2nd November. The performance was well received and wanted to share some of the highlights of the event through this live concert in vinyl format.

This is a tribute album for the three artists who composed the repertoire, their friendship and the contribution they gave to the local jazz scene. Included in this selection are some anecdotes that were presented on the night and an original recording of these musicians.
