The heavy rains that Uttarkhand received from 14th to 17th June 2013 is considered as one of the heaviest rainfalls received in Uttarkhand’s history. Thousands of homes, properties, domestic animals and people have been washed away, apart from bridges and roads. Other infrastructure facilities were not spared! There is a fear of more than 5000 people having lost their lives in the disaster.
Many have been maimed; many have become orphans or have lost dear ones. Many villages and towns have been washed away along with the shrines and temples. We do not still have estimated damages of schools, Institutions, Hospitals and dispensaries etc.In the wake of the massive disaster, people in Uttarakhand beg a response from all of us!
The destruction and havoc caused to life, Property and Enviroment would take years to heal.
Their need is beyond what words or images can convery.
