An Appeal for Chester

I would like to ask for help for my friend Chester. Like myself, he and his wife Rochelle are Filipino migrants to Australia. My family met them in church here in Melbourne a few years ago, and we have since become good friends.

Some time ago Chester got diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and has been receiving ongoing treatment. Months later he and Rochelle moved to Adelaide which is in a neighbouring state to find more opportunity for work, study, and an easier path to residency.

Some of the medical procedures that involved endoscopy as a follow up to his treatment have gone wrong and resulted in internal bleeding, and eventually an emergency surgery to remove part of his small intestine. He is currently recovering and on a stomal bag temporarily until another surgery is needed to restore his digestive tract which will happen a few months from now.

In the midst of all this they also found out that Rochelle is pregnant, and already at 13 weeks gestation.

Their financial situation is as follows:

1. Insurance has covered the medical bills but Chester is receiving on going medication and stomal bag replacements until his upcoming second surgery.
2. They are both on a visa status that limits their ability to work to only 20 hours per week, and as of now only Rochelle (who is pregnant) can work.
3. They need help with regular expenses such as rent, essentials, and school tuition.

This is my appeal to all who are willing to give and help my friend. May God bless your generous hearts.
