Campaign Story
My names Ben Lovell, I lost my leg to a blood clot on 2017. The start of being in amputee is a very lonely and scary time, not just for the amputee but the whole family, it effects everyone. I suffered mentally for well over 12 month but now feel like what’s happened was a blessing. I wanted to help amputees not have the same bad start I had, so I started a health, fitness and well-being retreat for adult amputees. This year on the 1st of April I decided to start raising money to put child amputee camps on. These camps will have 6 child amputees and their families (18 people in total) at each camp. They will stay for a week in a 10 bedroom luxury villa on the island of Tenerife. The guests will have a chef in the villa throughout the stay to cook them fresh meals. The children will do daily activities at the villa, plus days out at the water park, beach, horse riding amongst a few. The adults will be pampered throughout the stay too with our beauty therapist and visits to a spa. The camps will offer something very special in the fact everyone attending has some idea of what they have been through. New amputees will learn from the more advanced and the new parents of the amputee will get the support needed from the other parents. The first camp will take place on the 8th of February 2022. We have Amelia, Lucas, Ashton, William, Reuben amd daisy may attending

Update posted by Ampcamp Kids at 12:53 pmgetting ready to take my n Helvelyn on the morning, my biggest challenge since I lost my leg, this challenge is a big one for any amputee but I have a blocked femoral artery which restricts my walking distance and keeps me in pain as long as my stump goes
