Support the Lebanese Families During the Current Economic Crisis

It has been a hard situation for the Lebanese people during the past days. The economic, social, and political crisis is leaving thousands of families, particularly in villages, unable to afford their basic needs. The crisis is expected to worsen in the coming days. In view of that, the following GoGetFunding page is created to assist families and children who suffer to overcome these harsh and dire conditions.

The non-profit Social Cultural Youth Association in AlBennay, Aley district in Mount Lebanon, will use the collected money to provide deprived families with basic essential items like winter supplies (clothes, blankets, fuel, etc.), medicine, etc. The distributions are to be done in connection with municipalities and other social organizations in the region that are aware of the severe needy cases in their areas. The association will use the money collected as well to create events that support children's health and wellbeing.

During this Economic Situation:

• Unemployment is at its peak level.
• Employed people are not receiving their salaries, and if received they are getting half of their salaries.
• US dollar scarcity in the market has forced banks to place a ceiling on clients when withdrawing US dollars from their accounts.
• The policies to block the dollar, particularly among merchants, drove people to trade their Lebanese liras at exchange firms for a price higher than the LL1515 benchmark set by the Central Bank which led to a gradual loss of the Lira value.
• Several banks as well placed a ceiling on clients when withdrawing LL from their accounts.
• The fear of food shortage and roads closure has sparked panic and led to an increase in the prices of the necessary supplies.

The result of this severe economic and financial problem is tragic on many families. We have seen several suicide cases lately due to the bad economic conditions (Protest erupts in Lebanon following reports about poverty-related suicide cases).

It is our duty as human beings to assist in any possible way!

• Do you stay in a warm place in winter? Others' houses are cold.
• Do you afford your family medication? Others are struggling to pay for the medicine.

لقد كان الوضع صعبًا على الشعب اللبناني خلال الأيام الماضية. تركت الأزمة الاقتصادية, الاجتماعية, والسياسية اللبنانية الآلاف من الأسر، وخاصة في القرى، غير قادرة على شراء احتياجاتها الأساسية. من المتوقع أن تزداد الأزمة سوءا في الأيام المقبلة. في هذا الصدد, تم إنشاء هذه الصفحة لمساعدة الأسر التي تعاني من أجل التغلب على هذه الظروف القاسية المأساوية. إن الرابطة الثقافية الاجتماعية للشباب في البنيه، قضاء عاليه في جبل لبنان, رابطة لا تتوخى الربح، سوف تستخدم الأموال التي تجمع من هذه الحملة لدعم الأسر المحتاجة بالمواد الأولية الأساسية كلوازم الشتاء (الملابس، البطانيات، الوقود, إلخ)، الأدوية، وغيرها, وسوف يتم توزيع المساعدات بالتواصل والتنسيق مع البلديات والجمعيات الأخرى في المنطقة الملمة بمعرفة أكثر الحالات صعوبة. كما ستستخدم الرابطة الاموال التي تجمع من الحملة لتحضير برامج هادفة لدعم صحة الاطفال و توازنهم النفسي.

لا يحصل الموظفون على رواتبهم ، وإذا تلقوها يحصلون على نصف الراتب . ا

ندرة الدولار الأمريكي في السوق أجبرت البنوك على وضع حد أقصى للعملاء عند سحب الدولار الأمريكي من حساباتهم. ا

أدت سياسات حظر الدولار ،وخاصة بين التجار، إلى دفع الناس لتداول ليراتهم اللبنانية في شركات الصيرفة مقابل سعر أعلى من مؤشر ١٥١٥ ل ل الذي حدده البنك المركزي مما أدى الى خسارة تدريجية في قيمة الليرة. ا

وضعت العديد من البنوك سقفًا على العملاء عند سحب الليرة اللبنانية من حساباتهم أيضا. ا

الخوف من نقص الغذاء وإغلاق الطرق أثارت حالة من الذعر وأدت إلى ارتفاع أسعار المواد الأساسية الضرورية. ا

إن نتيجة هذه المشكلة المالية اللبنانية الخطيرة مأساوية على العديد من العائلات. لقد رأينا في الآونة الأخيرة عدة حالات انتحار بسبب الظروف الاقتصادية السيئة. ا
