“All-In” for Humanity: Raising Funds for Food and Water

Dear Friends,

In the face of the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza, few Gaming friends in Malta have come together to extend a helping hand to those caught in the turmoil. The events of the past week have unfolded tragically, and watching the suffering endured by those affected, from our safe haven here in the Mediterranean, miles away, is heartbreaking.

Despite our differing personal views, we've united for a single, vital cause: to assist the displaced people who have endured nearly a week without electricity, clean water, and adequate food. Their generators are failing due to a lack of petrol, and the situation is dire.

Our Aim:

We are committed to making a meaningful impact during this crisis. Currently, we are actively seeking a reliable organisation operating on the ground in Egypt, positioned at the Rafah border crossing. Our goal is to collaborate with organisations that ensure the vast majority of donations directly reach those in need. Preference is to connect with organisations that are currently on the ground and actively working with the people on the border.

Why Donate:

In case you weren't aware, the Gaza Strip measures just 325km2, similar in size to our own Malta with a population density that's overwhelming. Imagine 2.2 million people confined within this space, surrounded by walls towering twice the height of the Berlin Wall and stretching far beyond.

• Electricity: Gaza's electricity supply from Israel and its local power plant has been severed since Sunday, leaving the region in darkness. The power plant shut down due to a lack of gas, with supply lines blocked during the conflict.

• Food & Water: The sole desalination plant, previously powered by the now-disabled power plant, has left 2.2 million people without water in their homes. Food is deteriorating rapidly.

• Displacement: Over a million citizens in northern Gaza have received a mere 24-hour notice to relocate to the south, a desperate attempt to escape the ongoing bombings, shelling, and the looming ground assault.

As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we are diligently evaluating partnerships with reputable organisations to ensure that your generous donations directly impact the lives of those in need. Currently, we are in communication with two organisations:

ANERA (American Near East Refugee Aid): ANERA has a longstanding history of aiding communities in the Middle East. UNICEF and Egyptian Red Crescent: UNICEF is actively working in Egypt and collaborating with the Egyptian Red Crescent at the border, providing essential support. We are closely monitoring their efforts to ensure that your contributions have a direct and immediate impact.
