الصدقة جارية في سبيل الله

Ongoing Charity For the Sake Of Allah

On behalf of my family I humbly request your kind donations.

We are somewhat reluctant & ashamed to ask for help from strangers, let alone those whom we know well enough.

None the less,I make this appeal to you all, Brothers & Sisters 'Umahti. As a true Brother, Husband and loving Father with an urgent need of your assistance. Though it does not befit that I beg of you anything, this is an exception to that ruling, to my understanding by "Necessity" (Some may disagree & should I in fact be considered wrong, I invite you to please provide me with your proof).

In brief: I request for those among you whom are capable and blessed with the means, to kindly donate a portion of what you can afford to my fund.

My objective is to raise funds to pay for the ongoing costs associated with immigration / visa requirements and restrictions. My wife & daughter will surely suffer needlessly without me in their lives, impacting on them directly. The success of this fundraising campaign is predestined, as determined by Allah سبحانه وتعال alone, that is certain. What is also certain is that when nobody proactively takes responsibility for a situation then that situation will remain as it was or worse. I start with myself firstly then remind you all.

I migrated to Indonesia from Australia late in November 2018. Unfortunately, I had not applied early enough before my flight for a Social Cultural Visa.

Note: I don't advise anyone else to attempt to do the same… get your Visa sorted before you leave please Brothers and Sisters.

I didn’t have an employment sponsorship arrangement for a Work Permit / Visa either.

So, strike two…Mistakes that are now proving costly.

With only a 30 day On Entry - Tourist Visa I can, with provision of immigration processing, be allowed for an extended stay of up to 60 days. Added expenditure one Million Indonesian Rupia.

For the past 16 months that has been very expensive (Hotel Reservations, Meals, Transport, + Tickets-Flights), exhausting what little of my savings I had to begin with.

Fortunately, these things have all proven well worth it, as I did remarry on arrival here, to a wonderful Sister who has also given birth to our first child. Both are priceless & precious to me. As is… My Mother in-law whom has been with us since our daughter arrived (Nov 2019), & with all her efforts, indeed a true blessing from Allah سبحانه وتعال

الحمدلله

My wife has returned to work, again I say by "Necessity" only. Given the circumstances we are in, we have little other choice. Except that my wife's income is little enough to cover our basic needs.

الحمد الله

I studied hard for six months to become an English Teacher to Speakers of Other Languages. Receiving my International Teachers License Accreditation, on completion of my studies in June-July last year. Since that time, I have in all earnest made every effort to gain employment, only to find that in Indonesia, being a foreigner; that it is not that simple.

Confirming by this experience, once more that it is imperative you take caution of where you get your information / knowledge from, and that the consequences for not doing so; will no doubt result with hardship.

Without sponsorship for either Social Cultural / Work Permitted Visa I am legally liable and subject to persecution for any violation of immigration laws.

This is my dilemma.

  • I haven't yet found anyone to employ me, somewhat due to influence of the fact employers though they want "Native speaking English teachers "; they don't have the budgets to comply with those immigration laws and subsequent provisions pertaining thereto. With their reluctance to comply, they then expect me to run the risk of working illegally for them.
  • This only can lead to practices of exploitation and extortion by way of bribery payments etc... (oppression), yet it has been suggested by more than one such institution from my experience to date. This is obviously taking advantage of my predicament where I would be at risk of deportation by the authorities here if discovered to be working illegally without obtaining a "Working Permit" (Sponsored).
  • So, this outcome is not so favourable given, that it would preclude me from returning to Indonesia for an exclusion period imposed with expulsion / deportation.
  • My family means the world to me, & we do not wish to become forcefully separated because of failure to comply with the law here.
  • It therefore is very disturbing to me personally, that despite my every effort to obtain work, that I am meet with such opposition. Per hence the further indignation of accepting this, means my wife forfeiting her rights, continues to support us through this time; when it is not ideally as it should be.

There only remains one other possibility to my knowledge that can change our position right now, that would be for any other permanent resident of Indonesia to (voluntarily), offer to become a "Sponsor" for me. The conditions for that basically are for them to have a minimum bank balance in an account held in their names to be equivalent to I.r 21Jt. (Should you wish to do so, please contact me to discuss further).

I am due to make the return journey, flying to Malaysia again next month. The price of this ticket alone, is a cost we can't pay, yet at the same time, one we can't afford; not to pay either.

Alternatives also as mentioned above, are also beyond our present capacity to bear the monthly associated expenses, inclusive of the provision for personal medical insurance cover etc. So it is, we plead to you our case for assistance with your generous donations of sadaqah.

Before I make this request to anyone else, I make dua to Allah سبحانه وتعال, Ar Razzaq for relief from our situation, which we must endure with patience for the time being. I ask Him for an increase in wealth so that we might afford to repay our debts, so we are not a burden to anyone else. I ask it of Him so that I may fulfill the rights of my family & my adorable wife can then resign from her place of employment, so that she can better nurture, guide & benefit our beautiful daughter to maturity. Aamin.

I trust that the information I have shared here remains with you as a private matter that we otherwise would not divulge to others except in confidence, lest our detractors relish in our tribulations.

With dua and your help, I may be able to continue this journey with my loved ones. Otherwise I fear the trial of being separated from my wife & daughter involuntarily, & indefinitely.

Providing for my family is their right (Wajib), upon me. This I regard as my duty to fulfil & next to Salaht, is my greatest concern. It grieves me I am struggling to maintain that obligation. It is only due to what I have no control of, that I request your assistance. Those who can afford it knowing, the returns of rewards unimaginable.

Please donate whatever amount you can to help?
