Alexandra’s Birthday Fundraiser for Hospice Malta

Alexandra's career in nursing spans 26 years. Throughout her career, she has been involved in the Pediatric casualty department and several other community based treatment programs. For the last 3 years, she has dedicated her time to Hospice Malta, working with some of the 1300 patients Hospice treats every year. !

Hospice Malta, a registered NGO with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organizations (VO/0062), offers all of its services free of charge to patients in Malta and Gozo.

Hospice Malta offers its services through a professional multidisciplinary team along with the assistance of a number of volunteers. The patient-centered palliative care offered, targets the relief of pain and other physical symptoms, as well as emotional, psycho-social, and spiritual issues. Bereavement support is also an integral part of the services provided.

This year Sandra, as she is affectionately known, has seen a dramatic decrease in donations due to COVID 19 and decided to help. She is forgoing her favorite gifts (mostly chocolate) to raise funds and help Hospice to continue to provide free of charge Palliative care to the Maltese community.
