AERODESIGN LUZ – UAV CRAFTING AND COMPETING FOR BRAZIL

SAE AERODESIGN LUZ is an undergraduate team project from Universidad of Zulia in Venezuela. Our mision is to design, build and test(yearly) an competitive UAV for the Sae Aerodesign Series competitions(USA, MEXICO, BRAZIL). This is our first time becoming part of this competition and considering we were conformed recently we have done pretty huge advances which is the reason we are probably the newest and most recent team to be be taken in count for this kind of competition. As an academical undergraduate team we are also generating experience through Aerodesign for our team members and every student interested in the project, which is helping us improve the country's knowledge towards applied sciences and different engineering fields specially aeronautics.

This year we face much greater challenges to compete. Sadly, Venezuela has the highest inflation rate in our history and as well as the weakest economy in Latin America, in short words, and to state an example, our minimum wage(15K VEF) is the equivalent to 15USD, this is consequence of the recent crisis in the oil market (Venezuela’s mayor income) and the bad administration of the political party in charge.

We need your help to improve education and technology in Venezuela. We receive every type of donations. Without the aid of people committed to the development of the country, it’s impossible for us to represent Venezuela in this competition, Sae Aerodesign Series. Our main obstacle is to finish the crafting of the Airplane design which is almost complete, but we are not in the capacity of costing some of the materials(some are not even found here and we need to import) nor the flight to the country hosting the competition.

Despite all the problems which we face as a country, we wish to represent Venezuela and show we are a technological potency with the capacity to develop and train professional engineers with the highest skills
