In the interest of service for the Filipino youth, we are warmly inviting you to be one of the Guiguinto Scholars Association (GSA) partners on its yearlong advocacy events this October 2019 – August 2020. Our organization, known as the GSA has been actively in existence for 17 years now.
We are a non-profit community-based youth driven and youth-serving organization. We empower the children and youth of Guiguinto to enhance their full potentials in shaping their future. We serve as an avenue for youth development thru our programs and services.
With active 108 youth leaders, GSA promotes the organization’s 4K advocacies such as Karunungan (Academic Excellence), Kahusayan (Arts and Culture Excellence), Kamalayan (Social Awareness) and Kasaysayan (Historical Preservation); and is two-time Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations of the Philippines (TAYO) Awardee.
For more than a decade of continuous public service, the organization has built its loyal project beneficiaries and supporters:
- 20 Elementary & High Schools
- 14 Barangays
- Local Government offices
- Other youth organizations; Religious groups;
- 12K social media followers
Karunungan (Academic Excellence) Project:
Byline Campus Journalism Conference: A two day competition and workshop/seminar for different fields of media and journalism. This encourages everyone to partake in artistic endeavors happening around Guiguinto, as well as, raising awareness on the needs to promote, preserve and enrich the aspiring campus journalists of Bulacan.
Kahusayan (Arts and Culture Excellence) Project:
Guintong Pandayan Summer Workshop: An annual FREE summer workshop for kids and teens ages 7-21 on the field of their choice: Music, Dance, Acting, Communication Arts and Visual Arts. The primary goal of Guintong Pandayan is to encourage youth participation through the fields of arts and to showcase their talents.
Kamalayan (Social Awareness) Project:
Gawad Guintong Pluma: Preserving the rich Filipino Literature through workshops and competition where literary skills of youth such as poetry writing, essay writing, flash fiction and slogan making contest and photo journalism are challenged and broaden up to teach them how to write creative thoughts and compete their piece to others.
Guintong Kalinga x Pamilyarawan:A gift giving project to share the spirit of Christmas to selected families. Aside from the usual gifts, the participants will get a chance to have their first family photo.
Kasaysayan (Historical Preservation) Project:
HistoryTelling:Kasaysayan advocacy pledge to tell our local history in lieu of being oppressed with historical antecedents that have existed before them. With this vision, History Telling 2016 helped implement local history along Department of Education Basic Education curriculum, making GSA as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization of the Philippines (TAYO) Awardee in 2017.
THE JOYS OF ADOPTING A GSA PROJECT
They say we, GSA project sponsors bring joy to many children. We harness the spirit of volunteerism. We empower the youth. We help kids to dream more. But little do people know the surprising return that we experience as sponsors. The joy when everybody in the community walk together. The joy when we see the youth win. The joy when we see them fulfill their dreams. The joy when we hear them say thank you. The joy when we share stories to our own children. We can go on and on about it, but there are more hopeful little ones that have yet to enjoy life in all its fullness and more generous hearts that need to experience this kind of joy.
