Hello, my name is Shamil, aged 30, a System Engineer and a keen observer in the aviation industry, a man with ultimate dream of one day operating on the flight deck of an aircraft as a Pilot.
I'm not very good with words, expressing my feelings and extremely nervous when in the center of attention but still I'm bracing myself here despite all the flaws.
My first flight experienced was on 2011 from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching. The feeling of being sucked into the seat when the aircraft suddenly goes to full thrust during the take-off will never be forgotten. I think from that point afterwards I started to grew lot of interest in aircraft and also aviation.
Having graduated in 2014 from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Bachelor of Technology (Hons) Information & Communication Technology, I successfully landed my first job after about 6 months of unemployment at a company doing Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO). I actually a bit reluctant to accept the offer as the position offered is a position that I would like to avoid the most if I can but thinking that there could be a possibilities or opportunities that may arise later on during working in the industry that involves in aviation, I decided to accept the offer. The passion to fly kept going stronger day by day as I could see very clearly the aircraft taking-off and landing as the runway is only few hundred meters from the office. Sometimes you just feel that the office is being shake by the aircraft sound that doing the ground test.
in 2017, decided to leave the and join current company which is doing Radar Surveillance for Maritime and Aviation. Tried asking to be transfered to aviation but no opening yet and currently serving the Maritime project.
Throughout the years since graduated up until now, the dream and passion to earn my wing is still there and will never dies unless incapable of doing so. Most of the cadet pilot program provided by an airline has set the age limits as well as the academic requirements is very high. I can do something on the academic result but not for the age.
After some research and readings on the Internet, the average cost throughout the phase from PPL, CPL and ATPL is around RM300K++ and does not yet cover the aircraft type rating. Of course there are other financing option such as personal loans from financial institutions but the chances of getting the loans is very slim than getting hit by the lightning as I have nothing to backed or put as collateral for the financing. Therefore, I just found out about this program and decided to give it a try and who knows it is my time to receive all the help from you before I could return the favor back to all of you. I will not be doing this if my family is as rich as the former MO1. You know who he is.. :P
Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you in here either if you came here as a contributor or passer by as I would be more than grateful for any amount and share that you made to people around you. No words can describe how thankful I am to all of you. Again. THANK YOU SO MUCH :) :) :)
