This is Trinidad P. Degollacion, 78, Widowed.

2 years ago during her cataract operation (via mabuhay charity), we found out that she has a heart enlargement and both of her kidney were totally damaged. The doctor asked us to prepare an arteriovenous fistula (A fistula, also known as an arteriovenous (AV fistula is the gold standard vascular access used to access the blood for hemodialysis treatment.) in case of emergency since she has a huge problem with her kidney and can cause death. An AV cost roughly 15-25,000 pesos and in our case, money is a huge huge issue and so we didn't perform the operation for her AV.

A year passed by after her cataract operation, I noticed something weird about my grandmother. My lively and hardworking granny became lazy and irate all the time, she lost her appetite, losses her normal weight and sleeps all the time. She claims that her knee hurts all the time and that she can't get up easily, she vomits mostly saliva even if she had just finished eating, her belly looks like a balloon filled with water and it's super jiggly but it reduced after 2 hours of observing, it somehow reduced back to normal looking tummy.

Last july 3, 2018, We rushed my grandmother to the hospital because she was really weak, she can't stand up on her own, her skin color changed to light yellow and she was really really heavy when you try to carry her. By the time we got there, the doctor performed some laboratories to know what really happened to her and to our surprise.. Her hemoglobin count dropped to 4 and that's not normal and she was suffering severe anemia and needed a blood transfusion.

We followed all the doctor's advise and performed all the laboratory request that they asked from us and guess what? more bad news.

She went on an operation for her IJ

She was admitted at Visayas Community Medical Center for 8 days and was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 secondary to Hypertensive Nephrosclerosis, Chronic Heart Enlargement and Renal Anemia. The doctor advised us that she needs to undergo a kidney dialysis thrice a week along with the synthetic injection for her hemoglobin count.

To be honest, we really don't know how to take all of the bad news that we encounter and we recently got out from the hospital with huge hospital bills due to her hemodialysis and some prescibed meds that were really really expensive and now, we don't know where or how to get funds for her hemodialysis thrice a week.

We also tried asking some financial assistance from the local government here, they did provide some but we already consumed it. If we are going to sum all the expenses, the dialysis alone would roughly cost 20k a month, fare and food not included.

I am now knocking on your warm and kind hearts to help us extend my grandmother's life by donating any amount for her hemodialysis.
