A Call for Peace in Baringo County Kenya

For a long time, Baringo County has been in the headlines with disturbing news of violence, killings and cattle rustling among other vices. The Creators of Peace has been working in Baringo County since 2014 and the impact of the peace trainings to women and leaders have been one that can’t be ignored.

After the Creators of Peace training, the Pokot women realized and recognized the pain that the community had caused to the neighboring communities. And on the 27^th May, 2015, an apology was made. Following the touching apology by Pokot women to the Tugen and Illchamus communities in Baringo, the Creators of Peace team saw the need to take that courageous step further. They are now focusing on Baringo County for the next one and a half years by running;

Ø50 Peace Circles (reaching at least 1000 women),

Ø15 Dialogue meetings (reaching at least 1,500 community leaders) and

130 ‘Chai ya Amani’ where local community members meet and take a cup of tea as they talk on how to make peace a reality (reaching 2,600 community members.)
