Campaign Story
Imagine Living in a pandemic - in the slums AND dealing with periods at the same time. It is overwhelming to say the least! For some time now ive been organizing little sanitary packs for the less fortunate and I found that women and girls face many challenges because they lack resources, and this means that they couldn’t manage their periods safely or with dignity.
With Limited access to sanitary products, clean water, and safe and private toilet facilities. Many of them suffer from anxiety and embarrassment as a result.
Measures taken to slow the spread of COVID-19 have worsened things for women and girls in low-income areas. They have had devastating economic effects and people have really struggling financially. Many are missing meals, have lost work and most are living in depression.
Me and You can help by ensuring that women and girls have access to affordable, hygienic sanitary products during and beyond the pandemic.
